The First Anniversary of BHC’s Veteran Bungalows

The Burbank Veteran Bungalows

Some of our veteran residents and donors at the First Anniversary Luncheon

It’s been over a year since the Burbank Veteran Bungalows, a BHC Property that provides affordable housing and supportive services to chronically homeless veterans, opened!

On May 25, 2017, Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) and New Directions for Veterans (NDVets) celebrated the first anniversary of the Burbank Veteran Bungalows! This 11-unit property has provided  formerly homeless veterans the affordable housing opportunities and supportive services they need to live as their most self-sufficient and productive selves.

Members of the City of Burbank and NDVets joined us at our event to see the progression that our housing project has made in just one year!  The newest addition to the Burbank Veteran Bungalows is a community area located in the front courtyard.

During our #GivingTuesday campaign, BHC received sufficient donations to create a highly requested outdoor seating area for our residents. As a special thank you to our generous donors, they were also asked to attend this event.

BHC provided light refreshments and a taco bar for invited guests to enjoy

Although it’s a small milestone, the First Anniversary of the Burbank Veteran Bungalows deserves a celebration because our veteran residents have made substantial progress, shifting from a life on the streets to a supportive living situation.
