Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club (B&GC) of Burbank and Greater East Valley to provide enrichment programs for school-age children in our community.  Our youth programs offers schoolwork assistance, creative arts, enrichment activities, outdoor play, field trips, and more! BHC has designated two locations for our youth programs, the Elmwood Activity Center and the Peyton-Grismer Activity Center.

Through our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, we are able to provide a variety of programs which includes All-Day Enrichment, Summer Camp, and After-School.  Our organization subsidizes the program expenses to offer free or low-cost programming to BHC residents and households living in our focus areas.  If you a BHC resident interested in registering your child, you may sign up online via the Boys & Girls Club Parent Portal: parentportal.bgcburbank.org/

After School Program

School is back in session and so is the BHC & BGC Burbank After School Program! Now that the Burbank Unified School Districit has returned to in-person learning, we are offerring our residents a free After-School Program at BHC’s Elmwood and Peyton-Grismer Activity Centers. Our After-School Program provides students with homework help, fun activities, outdoor play, and van transportation from local elementary schools.

Our Activity Centers are deep cleaned daily and spaces are limited to keep staff and children as safe as possible. Masks are required and daily temperature checks and hourly sanitizing schedules are implemented by on-site staff. All Day Enrichment Program

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, BHC was forced to close its Activity Centers for over two months.  While children shifted to online classrooms, our organization adapted its youth programs to meet the needs of our families and created the All-Day Enrichment Program.  Until May 2021, this low-cost program offered childcare to essential workers, virtual learning assistance, extracurricular activities, and financial aid scholarships to families unable to pay the weekly fee.

The All Day Enrichment Program wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Burbank Community! BHCreceived a substantial grant award from the Burbank HealthCare Foundation that helped us cover the unforseen expenses of transforming our youth programs.
