The Grand Opening of the Fairview Cottages

In April 2019, Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) acquired a three-unit property in our Golden State Neighborhood to provide more affordable housing for extremely low income households. Sylvia Moreno, BHC Senior Project Manager, & Raha Arnold, BHC Asset Manager, worked on the renovation of this property. After 8 months of rehabilitation, BHC celebrated the completion of the Fairview Cottages on November 21, 2019!

The Fairview Cottages contains a one 2-bedroom unit and two 1-bedroom units. In early December, three low income households from our waiting list officially moved into the available apartments. “Three units sounds like a little number in the grander sense, but it ends up being a long-term investment” said Judith Arandes, BHC Executive Director.

For over 20 years, BHC projects have been made possible thanks to the Burbank City Council’s support & funding approval. The Fairview Cottages were dedicated to the Burbank City Council to show our appreciation for their commitment to affordable housing. At our grand opening, BHC unveiled a plaque to honor the current City Council.
