Earth Day Food Distribution

In years past, Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) has celebrated Earth Day with our community by hosting a block party and community clean-up. In 2009, BHC celebrated Earth Day with a community clean-up and block party.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our residents have experienced financial and food insecurity. We, at BHC, wanted to bring this event back, while still addressing the very real needs of our community.

This Earth Day, BHC hosted  free food distribution for our residents! We successfully met our fundraising goal and we were able to distribute 100 food packages to BHC low-income families. We provided free non-perishable food, fresh produce, new children’s books, herb grow kit, reusable shopping bags, and more!

Thank You to our Donors & Volunteers

To fund this event, BHC solicited private donations from local businesses and community organizations.  Thanks to our donors, we were able surpass our fundraising goal by 20%.  Our team of volunteers, staff, and board members worked hard to make this event run smoothly.
