Starting August 17, 2020, Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) and the Boys & Girls Club (BGC) of Burbank have partnered to create an All-Day Youth Enrichment Program for BHC families. Our program operates from our Elmwood and Peyton-Grismer Activity Centers, Monday through Friday.
Through our partnership with Boys & Girls Club, BHC is able to provide families with essential child care and virtual learning assistance during the COVID-19 health crisis. To ensure the safety of staff and participants, our centers are deep cleaned daily and every student has an assigned seat with a clear desk partition and individual school supplies. Masks are required at all times and an hourly sanitizing schedule and daily temperature checks are implemented by on-site staff.
At our Activity Centers, BHC subsidizes the normal registration and weekly program fees so that we can offer a low-cost and quality program for our residents. In addition, BHC Financial Aid Awards are also available to “Extremely Low ” and “Very Low Income” residents to cover the program fees.
Our youth programs have always been the cornerstone of our resident services; however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused unprecedented changes to our programming. Many of our working families rely on these programs to ensure that their children are in a safe environment, succeed in school, and develop interests through enrichment activities.
We are honored to receive the 2020 Burbank HealthCare Foundation Grant that will support our efforts in providing quality and affordable youth programs to our families! Thank you, Burbank HealthCare Foundation!
