Burbank Housing Corporation (BHC) owns several affordable housing properties in five focus neighborhoods in the City of Burbank. BHC operates a waiting list system to fill all of its vacancies. Our Affordable Housing Program has fixed rent rates and tenants are responsible for paying their monthly rent in its entirely. The BHC Waiting List applies to ALL of our rental units in our permanent housing properties.
Due to the high demand for our Affordable Housing Program, there are no available apartments at this time. Please keep in mind that BHC’s Affordable Housing Program is NOT a form of immediate or emergency housing.
BHC’s Affordable Housing Program has four waiting lists that are categorized by income. The income and rent requirements are established by the State of California for Los Angeles County. Your household’s income category is based on the household size and total gross annual income. Learn what income category your household qualifies for: CLICK HERE
To qualify for our Affordable Housing Program, applicants must fall into one of four income levels:
EXTREMELY LOW INCOME
VERY LOW INCOME
Interested applicants must first apply for the BHC Waiting List to enter our Affordable Housing Program. In order to apply for our waiting list, your household’s gross income must fall within the income range for the program AND the waiting list for your income category must be open at the time that you request a waiting list application.
When the BHC Waiting Lists are filled to capacity, the BHC office will close the waiting list. Waiting list applications are not available when the list is closed. To determine if a waiting list will reopen in the following year, BHC conducts an annual audit of the waiting list. Every year, BHC prepares a waiting list update to inform interested applicants about upcoming waiting list openings. Our annual waiting list updates include important deadlines and instructions. Please keep in mind that a waiting list may remain closed until further notice.
