Support BHC Youth in Higher Education
Established in 2004, The Allen Cottriel Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Allen G. Cottriel, the 1st BHC Board President, to help low-income students from our community pursue a higher education. Prior to BHC’s Scholarship Fund, our communities struggled to produce high school graduates but now, BHC has provided several college students with the financial support they need to become teachers, nurses, engineers, & so much more! Each year, BHC seeks private donations from the Burbank community to support our scholarship fund.
BHC believes that every student should have an opportunity to make a better future for themselves through education. If you share this belief, please donate to the 2017 Allen Cottriel Scholarship Fund in whatever measure you can. All donations are tax-deductible.
Gakpe, a long time BHC resident, is a three-time Scholarship Recipient. As a member of the honor society, Gakpe has dedicated his time to tutoring his fellow peers who struggle with English & Math. His academic excellence allowed him to transfer from a local community college to a four-year university. He hopes to become a medical researcher or doctor after he finishes his education.
BHC is extremely proud of Gakpe’s achievements and we hope that he continues his educations and reaches all of his professional aspirations.
“Receiving this scholarship has truly been a blessing. It’s helped me so much this past year. Furthermore, I’m so thankful to all the donors generous donations that have enabled me to focus on studying without having to worry about purchasing textbooks and supplies.”
